Recently, he also developed an interest in distributed ML (e.g. federated learning) scheduling and applications of learning paradigm (e.g. causal performance attribution, performance diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction) across the Cloud-Edge Continuum. In the past, he was associated with multiple EU H2020 projects in various roles (i.e. Scientific Coordinator, WP Leader, Researcher). Currently, he also serves as an Associate Editor for Springer’s Journal of Cloud Computing, and a program committee member at various conferences and workshops.
Siamak Farshidi is an assistant professor at the Department of Information and Computer Science at Utrecht University. From 2020 to 2022, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Amsterdam on cross-domain search engines in the context of the ENVRI-FAIR project to advance the findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIRness) of the data and services offered by the ENVRI Cluster research infrastructures. During his Ph.D., Siamak carried out research on multi-criteria decision-making problems in software production, such as blockchain platform selection. Currently, his research focuses on recommender systems, search engines, and decision-making in ICT.

Casper van Schothorst has always been intrigued by positive collaboration, so he spent 25 years specializing in business partnerships & channel organizations resulting in an in-depth understanding how to build & manage a partner channel, continuously grow partner contribution, increase the opportunity for & with partners, in effective partnership with developers, technical sales, account management and marketing. Trust between the different stakeholders in a software ecosystem like software vendors, IT partners and customers, has always been a key differentiator in the success, or failure, of the collaboration so always have been an important focus area in the work of Casper. The evolution of software propositions from on-prem to cloud-based solutions opens a new spectrum of possibilities to provide trust to the ecosystem and Casper will research the different innovative options with a focus on the business side of the ecosystem.
